Tired Like Woah

I had my first ever full work day today for my internship and I am so tired. I had trouble sleeping last night because someone was yelling outside of my window and it sounding like my brother. Even though it wasn't him, it woke me up immediately from an adrenaline rush to see if someone needed me. I've been napping for the last 1 and 1/2 hours.

Thank you guys for your responses to my last post. We've decided to keep him alive until further notice. With his new meds he's recovering, but it's only temporary and he'll still die soon. His birthday is June first so he'll make it to the old age or 13.

I hope that everyone is doing well this week. I'm going to look for you guys on facebook (you won't find me), I'll send you a message to confirm if it's you. Add me too if you wish. If you don't, no hard feelings.

Sarah, where'd you go? Are you doing alright?

Yes the letters to ourselves being done in the first week of June, which I've determined to be the week after next, that was your idea Stephanie. lol. I'm writing mine to my 16 year old self, but I figured that everyone would write to whatever age they wanted to. I'm a few years older than you guys so 16 was quite a while (6 years) ago for me.

Since we are focusing on getting to know each other by talking about what we are interested in I should start with the most obvious for me. I like visual media. Movies, television, Youtube, theatre. I'm a sucker for a story and interesting character dynamic. I've always been that way. When I was a kid I was a book worm as well, but that has slowed down to somewhat of a halt since I started college. The last book I read for leisure and finished was Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut and that was at least two years ago.

I've talked about my television obsession, but not my interest in the others. I love musicals. I will watch any musical (note: I've seen all 3 Highschool Musical movies) though I don't like them all. The last one I saw was Spring Awakening and I didn't like it, but I really like some of the songs. I had a chance to see it with the original cast when I was in New York, but now I'm glad that I didn't waste a ticket on it. The Pajama Game was horrid as well. The first ever musical that I saw was 5 Guys Named Moe on my fondly remembered 7th birthday. I'm not quite as keen on plays. I've forced myself to stay awake through more than a few. Though I recently saw an interpretation of the Glass Menagerie that left me breathless from its brilliance. I can't even tell you how perfect it was.

Movies are great. I have a list of them to watch before I move out of my apartment, so if you know any movies that I absolutely need to see, I'm open for suggestions. I still need to see Momento. I'm a fan of Disney and Pixar, but more so Disney. The artwork on The Princess and the Frog itself was worth the price of admission. Though the Toy Story series is one of the most amazing series that I've seen, animated or not. My favorite Miyazaki is Howl's Moving Castle. I adore Casablanca but have never seen Citizen Kane (it's on my list). I recently saw Bridesmaids with a friend at the theater and laughed so hard that I was hungry after. I also love the Fast and Furious movies (except Tokyo Drift. The acting is too terrible and that's saying something) which surprises some people. But they are so my kind of movie, about family, loyalty, and fast cars. The characters also tend to be multi-racial and bi-lingual with driven, well meaning males and loyal, strong females, which is so close to home that it makes my heart go pitter patter. I bring this up because I saw Fast Five yesterday on a whim and loved it.

Of course there's Youtube. I love Vlogbrothers, of course. I also like WeezyWaiter, DeStorm, Smosh, Freddiew, Whatthebuck, and Joenation amongst others. WillaimSledd was the first "youtuber" that I got into, but he doesn't make videos anymore. Also, have my favorite French duet that plays covers of anime/video game music. <-'tis a link
