Let's Try This Again

OK, so since I missed doing my introduction in my last post I'll be doing that in this post. But first, Responses:

Bakari: I was totally pronouncing your name wrong. Good looking out. And my sandwich was awesome. :) On the topic of the "flavor", just post what you're interested that week. Any common theme should happen organically, but we don't need to have the same theme every week (or ever really)

Marwa: I used to be a girl scout, but I only made it to Junior Girl Scouts before I quit. A friend of mine made eagle scout (boy scouts) and I was a bit jealous. And it's cookie season! You must be busy.

Reilly: I am seriously looking forward to your analysis of Toddlers and Tiaras. That show is all kinds of trashy TV and I have yet to find anyone who would admit to liking it, but people must be watching it if it's still on. It's so strange to me that psychology would be considered an art. It would be called a social science at my university. They're "soft science" in contrast to other science fields. And get well soon! Give those germs a piece of my mind. :P

Alda: 21 is a bigger celebration. It's the legal drinking age in the US and it's kind of rite of passage that someone buys them their first (legal) drink. Life is...*sigh* Not the best right now for various reasons. Thanks for asking. :) I want to travel to South America as well! I want to go to Chile, Peru, Uruguay, or Argentina. I've heard great things from volunteers in Peru and books have made the other three seem appealing. I study economics so Bolivia would be great place to study as well! I really need to improve my Spanish though. And your song made my Friday so much happier. Friday I'm in lo~ve

You guys are awesome (redundant because you're nerdfighters). I had a crappy week last week and your posts made my day.

Now, intro:

Um, hello, I'm Karena. It's pronounced Kuh-ree-nuh, not Karen-a or Kuh-ren-uh. Didn't even think about how it was pronounced until Bakari said something.

I'm from southern Arizona (about 45 minutes from the Mex/Am frontera/border by car).I'm 22, making me the oldest and only non-teen. \0/ I'm in my last year studying to get my BA in Economics with a minor in Geography and Regional Development. I had a bumpy college experience that lead to me going to community college for a quick minute and consequently earned an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. That and my fickle personality have made me know a little about a whole lot of things. A jack of all trades I guess.

I have an older brother. He's a musician and photographer and wants to open a restaurant. My parents are still together and are degreed professionals but due to [not gonna talk about it] may not have jobs within a year. My dad was in the Air Force and the stories him and his friends told me from their travels during dinner parties made me want to see the world so I aspire to get a job that allows me to travel. I hope to get a job at a consulate or embassy overseas. If I don't I may cry.

I've been really into TV shows in the last couple years. I'm currently making my way through White Collar. I love a good con. Some shows I watch are Community, Eureka, Leverage, Glee, Bones, and No Reservations. And there are more. I used to be into anime/manga, but not so much anymore. The only anime I still watch is One Piece, but I've been watching it since I was 13 and I'm in for the long haul.

I love experiencing new things (especially food. You'll probably hear a lot more from me about food). I look forward to furthering this still unnamed blog.

Edit: spell checked!
